Getting There
How to find the lodge without getting lost in the Highlands
From Glasgow Airport
After picking up the rental cars, we'll head north on the A82 towards Tarbert. The journey takes about 2.5 hours through some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery. We'll stop at Tesco to gather provisions before continuing to our Highland hideaway.
Local Transport
We'll have rental cars for the duration of our stay. Remember, in Scotland they drive on the left side of the road - like proper folk! And mind the single-track roads with passing places - they're not for the faint-hearted!

- • Look for phrases marked with "Essential" - these are your priority
- • When in doubt, just say "Aye" and nod knowingly
The Ultimate Test
Try to decipher this authentic Scottish paragraph:
"Awright lads! Fit like? We're oan the bevvy the night at the local boozer. Ah'm fair clatty after that hike but ah'm pure buzzin' for a wee dram. Yer round first, ya bawbag! Sláinte! Efter a few, we'll be bladdered and awa' tae oor scratchers. Haud yer wheesht aboot the surprise for the stag, ya dobber!"
Translation: "Hello guys! How are you? We're going drinking tonight at the local pub. I'm quite dirty after that hike but I'm really excited for a whisky. It's your turn to buy first, you idiot! Cheers! After a few, we'll be drunk and going to bed. Be quiet about the surprise for the stag, you fool!"
